Works In Progress
Posted by keavdog on Sunday, June 3, 2018 11:22 PM

I joined my first Group Build after being on this forum for years.  My Shelf Of Doom build has really lived up to its name, but I digress.  One of the things I like most about the group builds is the collective displaying of progress.  I really like seeing peoples work and sharing.  I've done a few build threads but they require a bit of effort and I'm not always up for sharing the entire process, but then again, there are times I'd like to post a couple things I've been working on without spooling up a new thread.  So I thought maybe a thread like this would be place to post piece meal work from time to time.

Anyhow - here's a couple of things I have in the works:

Hasesgawa 1/48 F-14A adding some Verlinden bits.  Man I thought Hasegawa could do no wrong but this kit is a bit challenging.  Metal hubs and rubber tires are cool.  Did my ordanance (yellowed decals )

Office about complete - Verlinden ejection seats.  Bit of weathering next.

I'm also working on a Roden T-28B and its the first time I'm using the Eduard pre-painted peel and stick PE.  I'm on the fence here - I really like painting and detailing cockpits so it's like exchanging fiddly bits for detailing.  Overall looks kinda cool, just not sure I'd do it again

I'm also working on Tamiya's 1/48 F4F-4 and trying my hand at pre-black'ing (is that the right term?) the cockpit - tip from this forum BTW.  I shot everything in flat black, then misted on interior green.  I'm liking it so far

Anyhow - I like seeing other folks progress, so if you're not up for a build thread but have something incremental or cool to post let's see it!

Thanks,

John

Thanks Toshi!  I'm hoping we will see more progress on builds, incremental progress and good ideas.

Thanks,

John

Everything is looking great John! I'm building the Tamiya F4F-4 right now also! Really nice little kit so far. Keep up the great work!
