Any word about Revell yet?

Agree. I suspect Revell USA and Monogram are gone. But Revell Germany has been a decent source of new issues and they continue.

So essentailly Revell is finished and other that an few old re releases on occasion there is no more from Revell USA. On the other hand Revell Germany has been over the years and will continue to make great kits at good prices and the new ownership is releasing new kits already. That's good to see.

 

That sounds like a fair assessment of Revell USA and Revell Germany. Unless Atlantis starts tooling up new molds and releasing them under a new Revell label

"So, the cat is out of the bag. Rick and I have been working on this for a few months and finally it's official. Salvino JR has purchased, and is now in the possession of most, but not all, of the Monogram Nascar kit molds from 1981 through about 1993 And yes, he's going to use the molds to run some future productions, so look for certain '80s Nascar kits to be released again. Of course the releases will be all new subjects. Rick and I are working together right now on what is coming and also decals for those kits. I'll post more news here as it's released by Rick. We've started decal art for one the first productions, but I can't disclose that until Rick makes the announcement."

Well, if they ever re issue the old Aurora 1/48 MBT-70 and AH-56 kits, I’ll grab those for a nice pair of “what if’s?”.

I may have come across the Atlantis label before, but paid it no mind. Moebius and Polar Lights I had noticed issuing the same old kits, along with around 2. 

Yeah, those old AMT kits are a challenge. I built most of their early 1/48 aircraft kits. Ill leave it at that.

It's funny, I got all excited when Round2 started repopping the AMT kits of a misspent youth. Then I was reminded how rough the things were. I could NOT get the hood to close over the engine of the Avanti, try as I might.

Correct me if mistaken, it sounds like the sci fi figure and space ship stuff. Flash Gordon "in stock".

There are threads on Scale Auto and Model Cars Magazines forum. In fact on the thread at MCM there are lists of cars Revell is issuing soon.

 

Do you have any links on them. If they stay strictly in the car model subject and neglect us modelers that are not car modelers, that will be a loss for both sides.

Looks like Revell.DE has been dealing with Zvezda of Russia.   They used to have the Cars contract with Disney.  

But 30 (dollars, Euros, whatever) is too much for these for the target audience.   Revell DE will follow their US cousins into the dust bin of modeling history unless they get real

Well, they have a new revamped website. All Revell Germany stuff. No sign of Revell USA or Revellogram on there.

I got a message today, August 25, that Colpar   Hobbies just got a shipment of cars and all sorts of aircraft from Revell.  So here in Denver there is an answer.  They had pictures of them as well.

I asked my local hobby shop owner this same question last night.  He figures next February before product will start making its way to the shelves.  I mainly do aircraft but we got into a conversation about auto models and my LHS owner was lamenting the fact about how AMT seems to be price gauging due to the fact Revell is not currently getting any product to market.  My two cents.

ROG has been repopping RM-US for years now.  They have done most of the 1/32 fighters before ROG developed the new BF-109's, and the Spitfire Mk II.  Repopping old kits for the US market is just a quick bunch of cash, as there is no development costs for new molds, as it just takes the graphics for a new box.

The way I read things, we will have no new molds created by what was Revell US.  However, existing molds will be used by Revell Germany, who hopefully has the same mold technology as the former US company.

I don't know if Revell Germany will allow repop of any existing old molds by the various repop companies.

Thank goodness for those repop companies that are still supplying us with the best of the old companies.  I see a flood of Lindberg, AMT, etc. kits on shelves now while the consolidated new Revell gets things in order.  Fears of shelves going empty does not seem to be happening.

In my time I hae seen many model companies come and go, Strombecker, Pyro, Lifelike, Aurora and others.  I'm gettong tired of this.  

At least kits will be comming out , eventhough it's from another place.

To me it will always be Rwevell, just like it's still Monogram.

They will not be Revell us. They will be revell germany. The Revell you know and are referring to is no more.

They were bought by a company in Germany, so they are back up and running.
