Dannyandre,
Yes, I know the kit you're talking about and have seen it at my local hobby shop. Unfortunately it leaves a LOT to be desired. It's basically a Chariot "cube" with decals all over the exteriorDead [xx(] I do appreciate your checking in with the info.
I'll keep waiting for a decent one to come along!

When I was 18 and stationed on her, I built the U.S.S. Forrestal. I would sure like to find a 1:350 model,to build it again. This build would be from what it really was & not what the model maker assumed it was. Big differenceSigh [sigh]

I remember building a kit of the space shuttle. It had a full cargo bay, and came with the launcher platform and solid rocket boosters. Cant remember who made it. I'd love to be able to find one..

Paulnchamp-I remember a Chariot kit from childhood (dimly) it was the Chariot and crew being attacked by a boulder-weilding cyclops. Polar Lights reissued it but it's out of production now.

I like to build this again:

I built it when it came out and I'd love to have another one to add the cockpit, landing gear kits and pilot, and paint it better.

It was never a kit (at least not an injection-molded one) but I always wanted a Chariot from "Lost in Space". I thought that was just the coolest vehicle. I wanted one then and I still want one today, but I'm not ready to pay the big bucks for a resin or vacuum formed one.

Fujimi's 1/48 Dauntless. I made a mess out of that kit. I was maybe 8-9. Can't remember. Bought it for a fraction of today's prices.

I'd like another go at the Space:1999 Eagle.

I'm still looking for my dream model... The animated Fantastic Voyage, Voyager... Saw one sell the other day on E Bay for over $60.00. Not ready to pay that much yet. I keep living in hope that one will turn up somewhere for $30 or $40.

"Vantasy!" I found it!

Some months back, I posted a thread that went something like this: "What model did you build when you were a kid that you'd like to build again today?" In that thread, I gave my answer to the question: AMT's "Vantasy," a futuristic-looking camper shell on an El Camino-like pick-up truck body that I built when I was about fourteen. It was a cool-looking model--at least I thought so. I put carpet in the back (never mind that it was real carpet from some scraps I got when my school was installing carpet in my seventh-grade classroom, so the carpet was about 12 scale inches deep in the model!) and even scratchbuilt an overhead CB radio (this would have been about 1976, when CB radios were a huge fad). Instead of using the decals, I painted it Testor's dark red; the one in the little square bottle.

Well, just this past Sunday, I found it: An old kit of AMT's "Vantasy." There was a small model kit exposition that was held here in Phoenix, less than two miles from my new apartment. Ironically, I almost forgot to attend it and when I remembered it, it was only two hours from closing time. I went, not expecting to find anything for my tornado chase vehicles or hurricane-hunting airplanes, but lo and behold, on the last table I looked at before leaving, there was "Vantasy!" I shouldn't have spent the money, but I couldn't resist!Smile [:)] It's now in my bedroom closet with the P-3 and the C-46 kits and someday, I'll be building "Vantasy" again. Hmmm, now would I rebuild it the way I did when I was a kid (only better with properly scaled carpet!), or would I turn it into some tornado-chase-vehicle-of-the-future?

So, what model did you build when you were a kid that you'd like to build again? Or have you already built such a model?
