Hi;
Have you ever seen a model , thought about buying it later , only to have it disappear from the market it seems ? This has happened to me more than once in 70 years .
Monogram used to have a nice sailboat model that looked like a " Bermuda Sloop " Where ? who Knows ? Then Aurora had some .Such as the U.S.S. Bannon ( a small Fletcher ) Never found one . Or the Wheeler Express cruiser .Had the chance , Snagged one , Built it and loved it . Haven't seen one since .
Revell , Frist 1/25 car kit , Ford Country Squire automobile . A wagon and the only one till Hubley's 60s era wagon years later . I know there were other wagons .These two were the only two " Full Sized " wagons I ever saw .
Into planes now .There was a 1/32 scale Beech Staggerwing . Molded in Yellow .Beautiful thing . Can't remember the company . Haven't seen one in years .
Armor . Anyone remember the Renwal Self-Propelled Howitzer or it's sister from Revell ? haven't seen either one since my last tour in the " Nam ." I woild be willing to bet . If I had millions to spend and an adroit investigator to round them up . I would have a warehouse bigger than an airplane hangar to house all the found molds .
We are talking many many products . Such all the wonderful Bandai German armor in 1/48 with full interiors even ! Oh there's many more believe me . The same goes for toys , But I won't go there .
Can you add any to the List ? I bet there's a whole lot more I haven't even thought of , much less mentioned . Oh , Believe me I think it's a very long list .
For you car builders here's a teaser . Lindberg used to have a " Sports Coupe " kind of Future car /Custom car in 1/16 that was killer in it's features . I saw one about eight years ago after owning one as a kid .The Box was different , the body now molded in Metalflake and all . haven't seen one since .
One more then I am gone . Anyone remember the American president liner by Pyro ?Re-released as the America , then under a different company name , Now back under Lindberg ? Or Monogram's 1/32 Military 6x6 ? Oh you see this is a big list .Let's see what ya'll come up with . One more .The ugly Sixties Chrysler products ( Dodge and Plymouth ) With semi-translucent Metal-Flake bodies so you could have it in any color and not mess with Metal-Flake paint . From Revell no less ? Tanker - Builder
