I dont know if this is quite right for I J N , but I use Testors Camoflage Grey.
It's an "Off" White. I alway's thought it looked like White, but kinda weathered.
The picture below show's the color slightly more Grey-ish than it really is.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
Greetings all. Currently building Hasegawa's 1/350 Akagi and I'm now prepping the lifeboats and launches. The paint chart calls for flat white on the canvas coverings for the lifeboats, however, it's just too white for my taste. There's also a mix ratio listed on the "Marking and Painting" poster tho's it still doesn't look right. Does anyone have a good recommendation for canvas cover colors? Thanks!!
