I might give Series 7 a try.
After looking at my 000 brushes they looked like they are starting to fade. I found Windsor & Newton Series 7 Kolinsky sable for under $14.00 each. They arrived today - lovingly cared for. Made me smile when I got home.
Thanks,
John
I ihave found over the years that Michael's and AC Moore don't take care of their brushes. They are in open bins and can be man handled by everyone walking through. I won't shop Hobby Lobby so I can't comment. The only chain I'd buy from is "Short name for Richard" Blick, and then only inperson to make sure the bristles are in good shape. "Good cheap brushes" is an oxymoron. Buying cheap brushes is like getting retread tires for a Lamborghini. As mentioned below, WIndsor & Newton Series 7 or the equivalent. Then care for them properly and you will have them for years and get a much better finish than the big box Cheapo Cheapo Productions brushes.
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
Hey , the last 000 brush I bought cost me $18.00 ! ! It's now catching up with yours !
sgtmick64 What companies make good paint brushes?

Whatever you can afford. I get mine from Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Walmart, various online hobby stores like Scalehobbyist, Squadron, etc.., your hometown LHS.....
Also DaVinci, Raphael, Isabey. You won't find them at Hobby Lobby, need to go to a real art supply store like Blick's.
They are pricey but I've had the same 000 sable brushes for over 20 years and they still have their super fine point. Well worth the money.
Thank You KeavDog . I am getting in the market for some new ones too . T.B.
Windsor & Newton series 7.
I Know ;
This won't help much . I go to Hobby Lobby and buy the " Best Artists brushes " they sell . If you want a brush that is worth caring for and will last , that is the way to Go . Eberhardt used to make some . I don't know if they still do . My last brush from them is now over thirty years old and hasn't lost any bristles yet ! T.B.
