Thanks for the heads up on those kits Frank. I’ll be checking eBay and such... it’s one of the last holes in my Korean War collection.

Stik, I think Route62 has an F-82G by Modelcraft in his stash. I'll check with him today.

That kit has a beast of a reputation, but it can be built. Modeling skills required. At least two guys on this site have built it since I’ve been a member. And since it is the only game in town in 1/48, there are not other options. I keep hoping to find the G kit so I can do one of the Korean War ones that scored our first kills.

If you can deal with adding Merlin noses, the rest of it will be fine.

Yeah, Bish, I read that review. Hey, if he can build it so can I. As an aside, you shoulda seen the pile of scrap metal Tom Reilly dragged into his workshop ten years ago. Again, if he can build it so can I...lol.

I bought this kit yesterday. Route62 had three, maybe four in a collection he bought recently. I know the reviews for this kit say it's less than mediocre but I just couldn't help myself. I have four of the Monogram 1/72 scale F-82's in my stash and one built on the shelf. I bought a couple of Hasegawa P-51D's to do a double nose job on one of the F-82G kits to build an actual P-82B. That's crazy enough in itself. But anyway, now I have a P-82B in 1/48 scale. The decals look to be OK. The markings are for the record-setting P-82B "Betty Joe." If there's anyone out there with any kind of input on this kit, I'm listening. In the meantime I'm going to take a closer look at what I spent my money on. At some point I will be severely testing my patience and modeling skills.
