The L came out in 1942. It saw combat service in Russia, Africa, Italy mostly in 1942 and 1943. Any surviving ones after that time served in low priority and training units from 1944 on as they were replaced by more capable tanks in the combat zones.

Thank you for the link. good referances but it doesnt mention the L model as much as i had hoped (actually doesnt talk about it at all really) this gives good information of what to make the paint patterns look like.

The J and L models of Panzer III did not see service in 1940 for the Blitzkrieg. By the time they came into service it was in Africa and Russia. So it would be the 1941 and 1942 color schemes, solid Dark Gray or Tropen colors.

Does anyone know of a good site to use to reasearch what color Panzer III's were in France and Belgium specificaly the J and L models. Im building the Tamiya Panzer III L and am wanting to do it in a winter dio. I cant find a lot of color referances.
