Need research help from the book readers
Posted by GMorrison on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 11:26 PM

Sebastian Unger wrote a series of stories, and a book, about the wars in Afghanistan in the 80's and 90's.

The book was titled War.

I think the articles were titled Fire.

In the stories, there's one about how the Northern Alliance held an area where the local talent took a Soviet helicopter wreck and turned it into a bus.

I'd be grateful if anyone could dig up info or images.

As you probably already know, they lost over 300 helicopters. I sure many of them were salvage for parts or whatever else they could use them for.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about the one being turned into a bus.

Life is not about getting out of the storm, but learning to dance in the rain.

Don't tip to through life only to end up at deaths door.
