Answering that many questions at once is beyond my mental capabilities.

One of my favorite models, and one I still have, is the Revell Emden/ Dresden. I spent a lot of time researching it, and I scratchbuilt quite a bit of detail.

1.favorite model in stash.Hasegawa 1/350 Akagi I have had it since it came out.Didnt want to build it before I moved and have it damaged.Not a great shipbuilder,but I want to do special job on it.

2.a few  GWH MIG-29 ,Dragon Tunisian Tiger,Dragon 234 Puma,Hasegawa Mikasa.Meng T-90

3.Armor,aircraft,ships,thats all I build

4.none

5.1/35 armor, 1/48 a/c , 1/350 ships

6.not about the company,its about the individual kit

7.I use Tamiya,Vallejo,MM Enamel primarily, looking to try Mission Models as my LHS has them.But again its usually about color availability

I live in Poland and I often go to Germany.

My favourite model is my M42 Duster - it's foto has even been featured in the Finescale Modeller! My speciality is Vietnam War and my scales are 1:72 and 1:35. I also like to do aircraft and helicopters.

Sounds good,have we seen it ? Perhaps my favorite war story,their patrol reads like a novel.Can't make it up.

This should be interesting seeing people responses. Haveing to think about some of these myself.

1) While i should really be saying a Stuka or Sd.Kfz 251, it has to be the Academy 1/35th Warrior.

2) Huma 1/72nd DFS 230 and AFV Club 1/35th 251/4 (sorry, have to pick one from each)

3) WW2 German (anything)

4) That will be WW2

5) 1/72nd for aircraft and 1/35th for armour.

6) Tough, that changes over time. It was Hasegawa for aircraft and Dragon for armour. Now, could not pick one as so many good brands out there. But certainly AFV Club for 251's.

7) Xtracolour, been useing that for best part of 30 years.

#1 and 2: I don’t have favorites. I just enjoy building them.

#3: Mostly aircrafts and cars

#4: No particular era. It depends on my mood.

#5 1/48 scale in most aircrafts. 1/72 scale in bombers because 1/48scale bombers are too large to display. LOL!

#6 I have no preference.

#7 I use a wide variety of paint brands. Testors Model Master enamel and acrylic, Tamiya, Gunze, Aeromaster, Pollyscale, Mission Model, Life Color,  Humbrol, and soon AK Interactive Real Color. 

Im not too crazy about Vallejo due to issues airbrushing. Don’t get me wrong, they’re great for hand brushing, but airbrushing... I’ll pass on it. Vallejo tend give a vinyl-y feel and look.

1) What is your favorite model you own?

Probably either my 1/426 scale USS Arizona or my 1/72 scale Flower Class corvette.  I built a copy of the Arizona when I was a kid, and picked up a copy a year or two ago beccause of nostalgia, and want to see what I can do with it.  The Flower class corvette is something that I wanted since I first sw it when I was a kid, but couldn't afford it.  So a few years ago when they re-released it I snatched up a copy, but I am waiting til my skills get a bit better before trying to tackle it

2) What is your favorite built kit? 

I don't have a lot built right now, but I guess it would probably be my 1/400 scale Battleship Potemkin, since I really like the looks of some of the older Pre-Dreadnought ships

3) What is your favorite modeling subject?

I guess ships, though I also like planes and cars, and recently have developed an interest in WWI, interwar armor, and early WWII armor, especially French (WWII) and UK (WWI) types

4) Your favorite era within that subject?

For ships, I really like Victorian-era through present day stuff (depending on the specific vessel)

5) What is your favorite scale?

This kind of varies with subject matter.  For large ships I don't mind 1/700 or smaller.  But for medium sized ships I prefer something between maybe 1/300 to 1/600 or so.  For small sized ships I am OK with anything from1/35 to 1/300 depending on how big the actual build turns out

6) What is your favorite model company?

I don't really have a favority company, and tend to buy more based on subject matter than vendor.  I even enjoy a lot of the older vendors like Life-Like, Lindbergh, and early Airfix, Revell and Monogram, as well as some of the current small foreign vendors.  As long as you have a reasonable idea of what the kit might be like, I have found that you can often use what you have gotten as a basis to update/upgrade and detail to whatever extent you may wish

7) What is your favorite paint supplier?

I don't really have one right now.  I tend to hand brush most everything and kind of like Acrylics.  But ever since my local hobby store shut down I have been experimenting with various brands and types to see what I can do with them

Hmmm that’s quite a questionnaire you got there!  Let’s see...

1. Favorite model:  In the stash?  Too many to choose from!  Well OK I’ll pull just one out - Wave’s MaK Gladiator.  It was one of my greatest MaK grail subjects that took decades for an injection kit to arrive.  I was so happy that I bought two!

2.  Favorite built model:  The next one I finish.  Looking back at my completed stuff, they are all imperfect efforts.  I try to make the current one on the bench better in some way.

3.  Favorite subject:  I’ll go with Maschinen Krieger, as that is the series I have expended the most effort acquiring and building.

4.  Favorite era:  Well if MaK is my favorite subject, 2885 is my favorite year as that is when the series takes place.

5.  Favorite scale:  None; it is entirely subject dependent.

6.  Favorite company:  I guess Bandai, as they provide me with all sorts of things to spend my money on like Gundam, Yamato, Star Wars, etc (but NO MaK).  Strange, but I pay the most attention to what they have coming down the pipeline over all other makers.

7.  Favorite paint:  Hands down it was Pactra’s Authentic International enamels.  Long extinct, it was my go-to paint back in the day.  I still remember how it brushed and sprayed well, and loved the color range.  Gosh, their brass paint just brushed on so smoothly; it was not thick and gooey, had fine pigment, and dried to a very realistic satin finish.  It made doing shells for all those Tamiya MM series armor kits a breeze.

2. My ancient Aurora 1/48 MBT70
3. Modern US Armor, I was an Army tanker and like to build my old rides
4. Cold War armor, specifically the 1980s, my years as a Cold War soldier
5. I like 1/48 scale armor, but have to say 1/35 because it's the common scale
6. I like Tamiya for ease of assembly, but recognize many companies make better kits

Hmmmmm,....

1. No real favorite owned kit in my stash. 

2. Can’t really pick a favorite built yet, but my Monogram 1/48 B-26 Marauder would probably be close to the top due the project itself.

3. Favorite Subject would be military models, Cold War, WWII, etc. with some dabbling in real space and sci fi as well

4. Favorite era would be a tie between WWII and late Cold War. 

5. 1/48 for aircraft and 1/35 for armor are my favorite scales.

6. No favorite model company- my favorite company is the one that makes the subject that I want in the scale I build in at a price I can afford.

7. Humbrol is my favorite paint brand, a great color selection in both acrylic and enamel, both lines hand brush and airbrush well.

While reading and participating in many of the general discussions a few questions came up in my mind and I was wanting to get everyones feedback.

1) What is your favorite model you own?

I may be wrong, but I feel that some of the responses we are going to show have a direct correlation to our geographical location, age both in modeling and chronological, personal modeling history and experience, etc. Here is my response.....

(1) My most cherished model would have to be by subject. In automobiles it would be an older Tamiya 1/18 Nissan R381. The aircraft I cherish the most are my unbuilt Trumpter 1/32 A-10, unbuilt Testors 1/48 C-130, or built Airfix 1/24 AV-8 Harrier. Within armor it would be my 1/18 M41 Walker Bulldog tank (so far) as I have not built many military grould vehicles. In my floating armada it would be my unbuilt 1/350 Banner USS Arizona. As for space or sci-fi I would have to choose the 1/48 Monogram Apollo 11 lunar module (so far). In figures I would choose my 120mm Verlinden B-17 pilot. The reason for most of these choices is that that they hold an interest in the real items and that they are some of my most accomplished builds in those subjects. I guess for me it shows that the more I put into them, the more I hold dear to them.

(2) Same as above...

(3) My favorite modeling subject will most always be automotive or some kind of wheeled vehicles. In this forum I have been challenged through group builds to expand my exposure in other subjects so it may eventually change to something else. I could almost say that my favorite modeling subject now might be "group builds" (smile). 

(4) Staying in the automotive subject, I would have to split it out as I do not have just one field. I really enjoy the 20-30 grand marks such as the Bugatti, Auto Union, Cadillac, Duzi's. I also like some of the 60-70 muscle cars and racers from the era such as Can-Am, Trans-Am, and Le Mans. Another field I flock towards is most any F1 or endurance racing subjects. And last, I really like many of the 1980-2019 exotics. Looking at my build history over time, I stay close to race cars.

(5) Favorite scale? For aircraft it would have to be between 1/32 and 1/48, depending on the subject. Automobiles would be the bigger the better but my standard scales are 1/20-1/25. Armor would be 1/35, and ships would be 1/350. As you can see, most of my scales are larger. The reason for me is that they are easier to handle and can usually pack in the most detail. 

(6) Now that I have expanded my interests and gotten back into modeling after retirement I find my favorite manufacturer(s) have changed. In part it is due to the evolution of the hobby, and also the changing or expanding of my interests. The type subject and scale also determine by favorite manufacturer as not all companys build everything under every subject for everybody. For example, in F1 cars; Ebbro, Fujimi, and Tamiya dominate the market. In Armor I suppose it is Tamiya, Meng, Merit, Trumpter, Hobby Boss, etc.. So it is difficult for me to choose one favorite manufacturer. If I had to choose just one that made the biggest impact on me over my time in modeling it would have to be Tamiya. Thier consistent mold and assembly quality over the years just seemed to make modeling much more enjoyable for me. I know today there are others with wonderful fit, finish, detail and such; but from the 1970's to today, no other manufacturer in my mind has achieved what Tamiya has. 

(7) My favorite paints would be a close score. For many years it used to be Model Master (Testors enamels). While I still use some Model Master it is now mostly in Acrylic. Currently my two favorite companies for paint would be Tamiya and Vallejo (both acrylic); Tamiya for spray and Vallejo for brush painting. I think thier pigments and color selection are far superior to the other brands I have experienced (just my opinion). With that said, I am confidant there will be others who share some different manufacture which I have yet to use; so in my ignorance I will keep mine to Tamiya and Vallejo. 

Come on everyone tell us your fav's. Perhaps we can obtain information from each other that helps us venture into trying other products. Curious minds want everyone to share....

Last two are both Tamiya.

My favorite is Blue Water 1/350 scale resin USS San Juan (from a Atlanta class cruissr).  My Father's ship from WW2.

I  have several thousand unbuilt to find a favorite to pick from is impossible.

What I'm building right now is good. ( A 1970's Italeri Opal Blitz).

I build 1/35 armor, softskins, artillery, 1/48 a/c, all types, some SF,  and ships of all types.

I do have almost all the Tamiya tanks and Aircraft, built and unbult.  First is Dragon models, also built and unbuilt.  Then AFV Club.   Same for Italeri, Bronco, Hasegawa, then Trumpeter Hobby Boss, oh the list goes on.

WW 2 is my subject to do.

I like Tamiya models the best

I also have grown to prefer Tamiya Acrylic paint the best.

It's all good.  I also have most of the Monogram and Revell kits.  You should see my basement.

I don't have any cars or motorcycles, unless it's used by the German Wehrmaht or a Time Machine (My wife). 

My favorite model is still under construction and has been for several years.  It is the Heller Soleil Royal.  It is a 1700s French ship of the line. Awesome kit, several thousands of parts. It is now in the rigging stage.  At my age and with my infirmities, I can only rig 20-30 minutes at a time- that is one reason it is going so slow.

It is hard to choose my favorite built kit- it is between the USS Lexington and an AMT car, the winner of the 1908 round-the-world race.

As you may see from above, I think my favorite genre is ships, but I build every other genre- cars, planes, real space, occasional sci-fi and armor, and an occasional diorama.  I build in all scale, 1:700 ships to 1:24/5 cars.  I have run out of display space, so am shying away from larger scales (depends on genre what large scale is).

Another advantage of smaller scale is it keeps my fingers in shape. I believe in use-it-or lose-it. Eyesight is not a problem, after eye surgery and buying cheap readers of high power.

1. 1/72 Monogram B-36. It took me roughly 7 months of works (the longest of any model I have built)

2. Same as #1

3. I am a big aircraft fan, so it is (with the exception of a couple of small projects) all I build

4. I like anywhere from about 1935 to 1955. You get to see anything from biplanes to supersonic jets.

5. I love 1/48, as the models are large enough to see and work with, but not too big to display. That said, I am getting an ever larger collection of 1/72 as well.

6. I used to say Revell/Monogram all day long (and still absolutly love their products), but right now Italeri has a number of kits that I like the look of, so have been buying & building a number of them.

7. Though I should probably switch soon, I really like Testors MM enamels. They work well for me, and I still do not know too much about acrylics. Maybe I should learn, Ive got a large number of years ahead, and acrylics might just be the way to go.

1. Dragon's 1/35 Leopold. Not sure how I'll feel once I start building it.

2. Tamiya 1/35 M1A2 that I put a lot of work into to match a Marines verison during OIF. Wish I still had it but it ended up crushed. Planning on building another one later this year. 

3. 1/35 armor/softskins.

4. I'd say WWII. 

5. 1/35 again.

6. It's been Tamiya for awhile but I'm really starting to like Takom.

1) I have a 1/350 Iron Shipwrights USS Rudderow, that I will convert to DE-509 USS Formoe. The ship my father served aboard during the Korean Conflict.

2) I don't have a favorite built kit, they are all special to me.

3) I don't have a favorite subject, I tend to build all genre of subjects.

4) I don't have a favorite era.

5) For aircraft - 1/48,

    For Armor - 1/35

    For ships - 1/350

    For Automobiles - 1/24-1/25
