I always shop and compare world wide, including Europe and Asia.  The latter is quite good or even better when it comes to shipping prices.   Of course have to keep in mind the exchange rate, but also have to factor in sales tax if buying in Canada.

Is there something in particular you are looking for at the moment?

regards,

Jack

Do you have any links to order from Asia?

I would second Wheels and Wings.  The in store selection is quite impressive.  Also Hornet Hobbies on O'Connor can be a worthwhile stop.  Where abouts in the city are you?  It may give me a better ideas of where to direct ya.

Hornet hobbies closed last month unfortunately.  I believe that is the shop the OP is referring to.

I agree with you, wheels and wings is great.  Probably the best selection in the city and nice and organized.

Magic Box in Vancouver

This is my go to store, great service, big selection but I find them a bit pricey for kits.

Have to admit, I do stop in at the Hobby Center whenever I'm out that way.  Great service and atmosphere there.  Always find something to spend some money on.

Ottawa has a few good stores.  IMHO, best of the lot is Hobby Center out in the west end.  Bill has a great inventory of lots of stuff; models, paints, resin, accessories, etc.  Not everything is listed on his website.

https://www.hobcen.com

Another is Hobby House in the central east area.  Very good selection of plastic, accessories, die cast. model railroad.  No website to speak of.

Great Hobbies in central south end near the train station.  Fair selection of kits, accessories, paints, etc.  Caters more to the R/C crowd.

Orleans Hobbies (formerly Discount Hobbies) in the east end.  Fair to moderate selection of plastic, paints and accessories.  They also mainly concentrate on R/C stuff.

I've been to all and I've listed them in my preference.  Very good service at all locations.

HTH.

Hello!

A quick question, my local hobby shop closed, the ownres retired so I started looking online for a Canadian hobby store to buy some of those hard to get models that Michaels does not offer.

There are plenty of fine US based stores, but the exchange and shipping rate is cccrazy.

Anywya if you know of an online Canada based site then please let me know.

Thanks

Ohh yeah I live in Toronto, ontario, canada!
