I cannot connect to Britmodeller.com anymore
Posted by JohnnyK on Saturday, April 13, 2019 1:02 PM

I have not been able to connect to their web site for about two weeks.  I cannot connect using my Mac laptop, my Dell desktop of my smartphone. I even went to a FedEx store and tried to connect using their computers. No deal!! When I try to connect via my smartphone I get this error message: ERR NAME NOT RESOLVED. I went to their Facebook page and sent Mike a message describing the problem. He asked me for my username. That was four days ago. Does anyone else have this problem.

I tried to connect just now and could not.  I used both Firefox and Opera, but no go.

They do have a Facebook page (which is about as useful as *** on a boar).  If you have Facebook, you might leave a message.

Their Facebook page is worthless. I left a message for Mike, but it still does not work.

I think that you were able to connect because you live in England. It seems that the problem mainly effects users in the USA. Why I do not know?

Could be Bish has the IP cached and it's a DNS issue.  Bish can you ping and share the IP address?

Shows as 154.16.147.178 from my lookup

I can hit the site  via a UK proxy.

I live in the US and have had no problem logging in daily...including just moments ago.

I use Firefox on both my PC and my Android phone.

(My only problem with Britmodeller comes with trying to use emojis. Almost every time I do, it freezes that page.)

I think it’s a IT mumbo jumbo issue.  I can get on using my computer, but 50/50 on my phone.  So they are still there. FSM isn’t the only one with access issues.

I rebooted my router, rebooted my computers, flushed DNS, removed history, cleared the cache---still no connectin to brimodeller. Tomorrow I'll go to my public library and try one of their computers.

Must be a regional routing issue -

I just got on (from FL, USA) using Firefox. Also, just connected with Chrome and Edge too.

You might try pinging Britmodeller from this site

....see what happens.

Hope you get this sorted. I'd help but it's above my pay grade (meaning I'm clueless). You're much better off with John. Smile

Hi,

I have problems some times.  This week there was one day that I couln't make a connection, but the next day I could.  I'm guessing that it may just be some intermittant issue with some server or something along the path between them and me, so if I can't get on one day I try again a bit later.

A final word about this.  I am unable to connect by phone, tablet or home computer.  Yesterday, I tried using a proxy from my home computer and was able to reach the site.  Apparently there is a range of IPs blocked for some reason down the line.  Don't know what is going on, but until then you will have to use a free proxy or VPN to access the site.

Hi,

I wasn't able to connect last nite via my mini wifi at home, but was able to do so today  during my lunch break, through my company's web server.   Maybe it has something to do with my security settings somewhere.

Your Internet Service Provider at home is probably different than the one at work. Do you use AT&T as your home ISP?

The problem with connecting to britmodeler.com seems to be specific to computers using AT&T as their ISP.
