Just been informed that.......

The Lancaster 464 provisioning will be in my hands tomorrow morning. Money changed hands this morning of Customs and handling fees of £17.88.   Parcelforce charge £12 for a Saturday delivery so that was added, otherwise it would have been Monday!

Sorry, but I couldn't stand a full weekend with this beast in a depot!

I hope to get a sprue photocall and review up ASAP in the relavent forum and maybe a build quite soon.

It is nice to have this kit in my grubby paws for the anniversary of Operation Chastise.

Customs have raised charges of £17 this morning. Parcelforce won't let me pay for it until it has reached the depot! Keep telling me it has not been released.... tracking says it has!

If the idiot at the other end of the phone would have accepted payment then it could have been in my hands by tommorow I reckon.... Looks like Saturday now!

Ambitious!  I have seen this balanced on 2 acrylic beams lit up with LED lights in 1/72nd... it was big enough in 1/72nd.

Base up lights in rods may be more practical than suspending from the ceiling, as that always looks like err dangled from a string!

1. How to install LEDS and micro motors for props.
    a) can I get LED lights powerful enough to create the two light discs to form a figure 8 from scale height of 22.5 in (57.15cm) from the aircraft or do I do that from the base.
    b) how to install and route electrics so they are accessible for battery change, switching on and off etc.

There is a FB group, "Scale Models and Dioramas,Using Lights and LED's" worth a look in, and tutorials for LED lighting models online...

Everything airmailed to the UK alledgelly goes through Coventry, where *** Turpin's Revenuers conveniently have a base!

I've ordered from LuckyModel before, & it has arrived with a German postmark, eh?, & no further PO or Customs involvement. (This might not last much longer).

It is enough to drive you mad! It was posted on Saturday, By Tuesday evening it was in UK customs.... Now it takes two weeks for them to make a decision, ask for payment and deliver! 

That's customs for ya. It makes no difference whether it's UK Customs or US Customs, it gets stalled all the time no matter what. Told ya you won't get it late this week.

All the more reasons I avoid ordering kits directly from China, Hong Kong, Japan or wherever. Not worth the headaches of waitng even longer.

Once it has been deloiverd then I can photograph the kit. In the meantime there is my photo session with their Mk 1 up on here in the aircraft section!

We wanna see the kit box when it comes in. Perhaps comparison shots to a suitcase? Or even on the kitchen table....

I have a tracking number and am keeping my eyes on it. It has already been given to Parcelforce in China

This is where my Mk I Lancaster it went missing for almost a month before turning up in UK customs where they got very confused over charges and I had to shout at them to make up their minds!

Despite having it registered and trackable even Parcelforce had no idea where it was. Damn! The box is as big as my suitcase for 2 weeks holiday somewhere in Europe!

Hermes picked up the V2 Rocket, Meillerwagen and SS100 kit on Friday and delivered to me Sunday Afternoon. Parcelforce could learn something from them!

I doubt you’ll get it late this week. At most, you’ll get it in a couple weeks considering it’s coming from China. I’ve ordered stuff from Hong Kong and Japan before and I waited at least a little over 2 weeks maybe longer before I found it on my doorstep. It still has to go through customs first. Do keep us posted. Don’t forget to buy extra glue and paint too.

Lancaster in 1/32 scale has a wingspan of 972mm and a length of 664mm

+/- the elastic band powering my memory.

you should know that HK Models have developed a system in these kits that allow you to remove the wings for transport and storage and the fit is so good, you can't tell (usually!)

This should be in my grubby paws late next week as it is coming by China EMS in time for the raid anniversary. This Forum and another will be the first to see the box contents.

Not sure when it will get on my bench as I do want masking companies to catch up with squadron codes (Hi DN Models) and a Mk III cockpit set from Eduard plus HGW seatbelt set when they finally decide to get it out!

Like the recent Tamiya 1/32, ZM kits etc., HK are really good builds and do spend lots of time to get it right. Some iconic big aircraft are coming from them and although they fill your bench and display space, with a good build they have a WOW factor for your house guests and visitors.

They are expensive, no doubt about that but the build time and experience is well worth the money. Their Mosquitos and Dornier 335 kits are really nice builds and with a good paint job, look fantastic.

Wow that's exciting news!  What are the dimensions of the finished kit?

You’re gonna need a room dedicated for the diorama. Regardless, it’s going to be a biiiiiiiiiiiig kit to display it.
