I wish i did more taking in progress pics. It’s always good to go back to the point you thought you ruined it and saved the build. A tough habit to get into. Especially with the work space mess. How do you build a bigger work space but still have no room? 2, 8’ work benches and I can’t ever keep it clear. More space, more projects. But, I would be glad to look for others wish list. I would like to trade kits. Is that done over the forums? Is there a wish list page? If I can find it and can get the deal, be glad to help out.

Id love to join the Star Wars group. I’m working on better documentation of My builds

I'm working on it too. I tend to take a million pictures of my builds for some reason.  However lately I'm trying to limit them to pictures when a section of instructions are complete... anything in between usually isn't interesting to others.  Usually.

Anyway hope you start sharing more.

Thanks,

John

Thanks all! I was just cleaning the shop and putting away some of my finds and making room. I impressed myself with those finds!

to Answer a few questions, yes those are vintage kits. They May have been the later releases. I know Vader is. But, still the original mold.

Mans that is a 3d printer. creality Ender 3. A great purchase and so much fun. Adds to my modeling. Still experimenting with it. it doesn’t give as good resolution as I like for really small parts. But, you can Work around and adapt objects to meet your needs. It’s practically a hobby itself.

Id love to join the Star Wars group. I’m working on better documentation of My builds and applying some new techniques To old builds. I’d love to share what ive done! I spent so much time admitrying others work, I would like to display mine to an audience that knows how challenging these builds are. They aren’t perfect or show winners, but I am always happy with some Aspect of what I built.

And thank you you for the tip of the hat. I’m amazed at some of the low prices people sell kits for. yard sales and flea martkets consume so much of my time in the spring and summer.

I have been on a building and completion teat lately. I had myself worried that I’d have my stash built by end of summer. But, I did a mental count and I’ll be alright. I think I have about one hundred kits unbuilt or in need of rebuilds.

Welcome!

How'd I do that? Something with the control key.

Ctrl+b maybe? Just a guess.

Aaron- looks like plenty there to join the star wars group build.

Nice work managing resources.  Impressive.

Nice taste in kits, look forward to some builds.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I hope the link to my google page works!

But, had to share  I’m not always a particular modelers, so thrift stores and flea markets make for the bulk of my purchases.

Other than the viper and star scream  (purchased at a comic con and spent too much but, it was con money and christmas visa gift cards) all those kits were less than retail

Total spend minus the before mentioned, $59 this year. The Keroro kit was a gift from a friend and the others, all from flea markets.  The c-3po and Vader kits were kits I wanted for a few years now.  Vader I paid up to get.  $25  not a good deal  but comparable to eBay and it was at chiller theater in April. But, I have a complete built R2, and another R2 in parts now. So I wanted those last two mpc kits to go with that. Nostalgia for those old Star Wars kits. Now the set is mine!

thw terminator  he’s all there but needs reassembly. A kit I wanted to find and lucked out and got him and r2 for $3 in that state.  So, very happy with that!

the car kits Came from thrift stores. $2.50 after discounts. Trade bait or just fun builds. I’m not a vette guy, but I did love the zr-1 as a teen.  So happy to have that!

Anyway, I highly recommend checking out these alternative sources. I find some wild kits I never expect to see. Things I want. Some things I didn’t know I wanted. But the price is right. At $2.50 a kit, I can’t see passing it up if it’s complete.  Even if there’s some missing stuff, scratch builders can find some good part raiding materials.

by all means support your hobby shop, but see what you can save from the trash bins!

oh yeah  I forget. I got a dale earnhart wrangler car two pack . The monte carlo and the Pontiac car. That was $5. I built the monte carlo. I was hoping to find one for a few years now.  But my nascar kit price, is a hard limit of $5, but only if I really want it.  maybe if it’s something older and harder to get, I’ll pay up. But monogram made so, so many. And all you need are decals to make the body who you want. Fun kits. But generic!
