Ok. Here we go with an update.

The storage/transportation boxes arrived today and I spent a fun afternoon exploring and putting in the Shinden and Nick.

The boxes come with a mount to which you put the aircraft on. To give you a better look I took the mount out of the box to make sure that the aircraft fitted and to make any adjustments needed. Everything is done with nuts and finger bolts etc, but you will need a phillips head screwdriver.

I used a rubber band across the nose. There is a hook on the mounts to enable you to do this if needed. I didn't want to break off the covers for the nose wheel and the aircraft is still  secure and doesn't move!

Shinden box is a bit smaller than the main one. and because of the long undercart, goes in upside down!

The Nick box is  400x400mm and is a bit tight in the box, but still fits. Aleksandr is a bit hampered as his machine is only 600x600mm. I did have to make slight adjustments on the wing mounts, but the mount design incorporates this.

The box and stand is made out of 5mm plywood and is very light and very sturdy. Storing your builds in these will keep dust off them and taking builds to shows in these boxes will ensure that they get there with no damage at all. You could also ship builds to clients too and the boxes would handle the trip OK.

I do highly recommend these from Aleksandr and those wanting to take stuff to shows for displays, competition etc will find that these are a really sound buy as they will last for years.

Thanks for looking in and commenting, Ted.

I will be taking my airbrush to the exterior to add national insignia/flag and the aircraft name/designation and also I may stain and polish the outside for  show and better protection. Making it have a better appearance.

Ace Ventura "soccering" packages down the street comes to mind.

Even if that's the case, i think your model will be fine in that vault.

Cool box.

With the advent that some of my recent builds will end up on manufacturers display later in the year, I have decided that plastic boxes and bubblewrap is not really the ideal way, although it works, damage does occur.

I recently bought a paint storage box from LMG in the Ukraine. It is a well thought out and sturdy box and now all my metal paints are stored in there from both AK Xtreme metals and Vallejo Metal Color ranges.

Aftere looking around what they offered and noticing they did transportation/storage boxes for tanks and small scale aircraft I contacted them and asked if they would do me a couple of boxes for 1/32 aircraft, and hinted that I have some really big stuff.

I told Aleksandr that the boxes were for Zoukei Mura Shinden and K-45. After wrorking out dimensions he sent me these

Shinden box is 340mm 340mm 165mm

Ki-45 box is 400mm x 400mm

I will find out the cost tomorrow and they will be shipped built up and ready to use as a test of the design. I will report back

I would like to know what members think.

Comments and questions welcome.
