I think if you post this question in the Painting section of the Forums you will get the answer you are looking for. Hope that this helps.

Advice on painting Marston Mat Base
Posted by TheMidnightModeler on Monday, June 17, 2019 9:23 PM

Hello All,

I'm going to be painting a cast resin base of marston mat, but I'm (entirely) new to painting scenery. How would I go about painting to get the look in the image below?

Black base coat then airbrush with gun metal and rust colors?

Base coat of gunmetal with a black wash and airbrushed rust?

Same question for the dirt in the corner, light base and wash or dark base and dry brushing?

Thanks!

MM
