...It's tough, but you have to be a nice guy and go with the flow or your house will never be peaceful. It's usually just one or two people that throw a wrench into the works. It's how you handle it that keeps the machine well oiled. I've had a few wrenches thrown my way over the 52 years of marriage but the engine is still running pretty smooth.

You speak the truth, Jim!  We can't control what other people do, but we can control how we react.  Learning that is an important step to being happy.

Regarding relatives, or friends-if someone does something, and my first instinct is to be irritated, I tell myself, "There will come a time when that person won't be around anymore, and I'll wish he were."  That puts it in perspective.

The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.

Baron - Yes, that was the one previously in Carlisle. I wanted to go to this one to also see what there was to be seen as it was in Gettysburg. I had planned to spend a lot of time with the vendors that have decals because I'm running out of spare decals to replace the ones that get destroyed when cleaning the museum models or are already coming off. At the last show, I picked up an 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of Japanese decals about 10 minutes before the vendor started packing up to leave. The sheet was going for $10 but he gave it to me for $2. The museum had a bunch of Japanese planes to be refurbished so I really lucked out. Now they have me working on German planes and I'm running short of decals for them.

Unwary Paladin - My relatives know to call first. Her relatives just like to suprise you and show up at your door. It's tough, but you have to be a nice guy and go with the flow or your house will never be peaceful. It's usually just one or two people that throw a wrench into the works. It's how you handle it that keeps the machine well oiled. I've had a few wrenches thrown my way over the 52 years of marriage but the engine is still running pretty smooth.

That was kind of rude of them to show up unanounced. I would have seriously thought about driving through the yard around them, but I'm not married so I could get away with it!

... Because the host club had to change places with not a lot of notice...

It was previously held in Carlisle, wasn't it, at the Army college?  If it's the same show I'm thinking of, I know some guys in our clubs were disappointed at the change of venue.

Today is a GREAT day. The out-of towners are gone. YAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy! I can get back to work at the bench.

Got word from the guys last night. They said that they were disappointed in the show. Because the host club had to change places with not a lot of notice, the guys didn't like the set-up but they said that it was still a good show overall. Lots of great builds. Lots of vendors. They did take a few of the awards home. I'll try to get them to send me some pics. Chomping at the bit for the next show. Sorry I missed any of my friends. Catch you at the next one.

This is the first time in many, many years that I missed the show. *#&@&%$$$*%&$ The car was packed, and as I opened the garage door to leave, a car pulled in the driveway. Unexpected relatives from out of town. If they were local, I'd have told them to come back tomorrow. But, as we all know, a happy wife is a happy home. Soooooooooooooo, I'm waiting for the guys in the club to let me know how it was. I'll pass on the info as soon as I get it.

Jim  Captain

P.S.- Thank the Man Upstairs they are leaving tomorrow morning. Couldn't stand another day with them.

PennCon is this Saturday in Gettysburg, Pa.  It's a new location. Check out the site for info.

Hope to see my old friends there and perhaps meet some new ones. I'll be wearing a black T-shirt with a P-40 Kittyhawk on the back. If you see it, come over and say Hi.
