Add some color and interest to the anchor chain.   Add shot count markings to the chain.

Remember,  red you're dead!

For brass metal, there is a brass blackening solution.  As someone previously said, Micro Mark sells it.  Try googling the term and you will find others.  Some sporting goods stores have it.

Being a shooter I should have thought of that, but since I can't strip off the cheap chrome, I might not work.

It's time to experiment!

I believe MicroMark has a fluid you can dip it in that will blacken chain.  Probably available elsewhere as well.

Never tried it, and can't remember exactly who carries it.

A quick query .  .  . Anybody know a good way to color metal chain black (or other color, as necessary) other than paint? I need the chain to be flexible and regular paint kinda glues the links together if you paint them completely. Does anyone do miniature electro-plating in black?
