I found AK is Enamel. I tried Enamel thinner but that didn't work. I will get their cleaner. Should have done that when I bought the paint. Thanks.

The paint is acrylic and so you clean with water or their own cleaner made for the job. Preferably both.

You will get a chemical reaction using the products you mentioned, also the paint is formulated for airbrush use, not paintbrush.

as a rule of thumb, always use the brand cleaners of the brand you are using, which is why I have cleaners from Vallejo for their Model Air and Metal Color ranges, AK cleaner for their Xtreme Metal range and also acrylic cleaner for the very few colours I use from their standard range and Tamiya cleaner for Tamiya paints, which I never spray but use a paintbrush for.

My main usage is Vallejo as it is chipset correct colours, Vallejo Metal Color and AK Xtreme Metal for metal parts. These complement each other as they have crossover colours, but they are all slightly different shades and both ranges have metals that are not in the other range. They sit happily together side by side but need a protective coat before masking For which AK's Gauzy Clear is perfect for both.

Each have their own cleaner and a wise man uses that!

AK Paint

I got some AK grey-green paint for Japanese aircraft. The color is what I want but cleaning the brush is a nightmare. When I put the brush in Brush Cleaner, Thinner or Windex to clean off the paint it comes out like globs of paint on the brush. What am I doing wrong?
