Thanks to both of you for those links! It's good to know my options aren't limited to south of the border or over the atlantic.

I think once you get more comfortable with shopping online, you will find the local prices will be a pain on your wallet too - unless of course you are looking at exclusivley Canadian made products.

Ebay is definitely an option - shop and compare as they say.  

It can be a bit iffy because of so many sellers, who to trust?   The ratings might be something to go by, but from a recent experience, I would not purchase from someone that has been there for only a year.  Nevered received the item after nine months of waiting, by which time the seller was no longer a member.  Luckily, paypal was good enough to fully reinburse both the item cost and shipping.

Yeah thats my issue with ebay and amazon, and I once looked on amazon to find a $25 tin of humbrol paint, but somethimes it works. Also online finds you such massive cost difference in different currencies it's hard to know who is cheapest and easiest for shipping.

It's all about shop and compare.   Usually you can just right-click the highlighted foreign price and google search will often automatically convert to the value in current Canadian funds.  Or you can always use anyone of the multitude of currency converters found online.
