Gamera

I loved my first Grex airbrush and used her for years until I soaked her in some solvant and ruined the seals. So I bought a second one, and the seals went bad after a year or so and now it leaks paint back into the brush.

So I'm on the fence, not sure if I'd recommend them or not.

A Grex has been on my want someday list for a while. I appreciate the information, Gamera. I'm not good at remembering stuff like "keep this airbrusha away from solvents", so probably not for me.

Thanks.

Thanks for the input. I usually use acrylics but I do use lawyer thinner for cleaning my Iwata. Maybe I'll just stick to them if seals go bad. I was interested in their pistol grip brush.

as far as the Iwata, are there different size needles and nozzles I can get for it? I'm not even sure what it came with.

I think the C plus comes with a .3mm needle/nozzle with an available .2mm nozzle. If you have the HP-CS, it comes with .35.mm needle/nozzle with an optional .5mm available.

This is just my opinion, but I find anything smaller than .3mm of little use in modeling. OTOH, I like the .5mm in my HP-CS so much, I leave it in most of the time.

I don't know why airbrush mfgs and websites make it a mystery to find optional needs and nozzles. With the Iwata, you will need the .5mm nozzle, needle, and needle cap.

I hope this helps until one of our resident airbrush experts sees your question.

Are Grex airbrushes good? I was thinking about one with the pistol grip but I dont know much about them. Can they paint a varitey of widths and even do luftwaffe mottling? I have a iwata eclipse CS Plus and it's good, just looking for something to compliment it.
