Hi Ya'll;
I think, there fore I model. Does that even sound right? Anyway, here's what I am getting at. I was involved in a partial removal of material from a friends garage. In that garage was the detritus you find in most garages. But,There was something that caught my eye. Corner-Stone kits by Walther.( Train Folks)
In this series they have delivered to the market one of the best and most easily detailed Tug Boats on the market. Sure it's waterline, But who cares? Now I won't forget REVELL gave us the little Beauty that started out in their catalogue as the Tug Boat" Long Beach ".
I caught some Armor kits that have wonderful parts for a ship or boat deck. The Winches on Light-skins specifically. These work great on converted L.C.M - 3 kits lengthened to L.C.M - 6 Size and rigged for Salvage work.
I have even gone so far as to take full passenger car windows out of H.O coaches to use for Windows in the pedestrian area of a Ferry. My Land-Lady found some Fruit Netting that is perfect say, for the Lindberg Shrimp Boat.
Okay here's another. You build things with headlights, right? Hiw about this? Go to Hobby Lobby or Micheals. Go to beads. They have a very reflective bead ( Cabachon style) That's rounded in shape. Install it in yourheadlight unit!
See! model parts are everywhere!
