Well I dont know if this is the norm with Italeri, a couple of missing parts, one defective. Plus you have to do a lot of sanding, I mean a lot.
I am missing even more parts. This is it for Italeri for me, $80 down the tubes.
I sent them an email, I am not holding my breath
Italeri quality is all over the place. The company has cast some very nice kits, and they rebox a LOT of other companies kits.
This particular one, according to Scalemates; is a re release of a Kinetic kit from 2011.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I don't have any experience with Kinetic. They do a lot of USN modern stuff. I did once read a review of the Greyhound, sounded like it was harder to build than the actual thing is to fly!
But the Prowler is a great subject and there haven't been too many kits to choose from in the past. Just keep beating away at it.
