Alclad Metal paints

I like them a lot. I painted up my motorcycle engine with several different colors and I'm very happy with the results.

I don't like their black primer at all. I have success using Testor's gloss black enamel as an undercoat.

Using Alclad requires really good surface prep. While I'm not a fan of hiding things with any paint, Alclad shows the worst work on a model in splendid detail.

Alclad metallics are lacquer based, and spray right from the bottle, no thinning required. My experience with them has been very good ; Paasche Talon airbrush at 12-15 psi. They go down thin allowing you to build the color density as desired and they stand up to handling fairly well, although I'm careful to keep from handling any painted surface without gloves or tissue.
