I'd avoid this type of magazine and save your money because the forum is a wealth of information from seasoned members. Hopefully I'll get back into this and offer a few weathering suggestions when time warrents.

Second that.

I don't begrudge Mig trying to make as much money as he can. I don't begrudge anyone making as much money as he can.  But yeah, you can find the same quality of advice here (and elsewhere), free of charge.

I have the same opinion of Mig's other products, too.  While I concede that the paints, washes, powders, etc, are useful to beginners because they take the guesswork out of making a wash, and so on, you can make all that stuff yourself.  You just need to learn the techniques and practice.

Save your money for kits.

I don't know about any one else but I very rarely buy magazines to learn things from. If we're honest modelling is extremely repetitive and if you know the colours you can do almost any paint job with just the fundamentals. I buy books and magazines when a build really stands out to me, or as I mentioned Damaged above. They're good for sitting on the book shelf and when you have a model you want to do something with but no idea what flick through them. Or just a rainy day when you're not up to working on something look for inspiration for another build.

They're also good gifts for family members to pick up. If your family isn't invested in your hobby picking up a book like this is a simple gift at a reasonable cost. Or maybe the FAQ books as a main birthday or christmas gift.

I swear - there's a magazine for every damn thing under the sun! Tongue Tied

I keep an eye on magazine releases and you really don't want to know how deep that rabbit hole goes..

I've read quite a few of them, but I wouldn't subscribe. Unless there's a topic you specifically want then they're not worth the money. The Snow one and the water planes one was really good among a few others and they're worth buying, but as a constant subscription it's expensive for what you get.

If you're interested in weathering I would recommende Damaged instead. It's by MiG and every magazine is honestly book quality. You find really imaginative builds in them and different styles of weathering and kits being used. Their translations a bit awkward (most MiG books are) but it's readable. It's the only magazine I "collect" to keep on my book shelf with my modeling books, it's high enough quality it doesn't feel like a disposable magazine or something you pick up only if there's a specific build you want to see.

WEATHERING magazine - anyone familiar with it?

Hey all, just wondering if any of you subscribe to or have seen any issues of Ammo by Mig's Weathering Magazine?  I got an email offering a subscription deal, but it didn't give a whole lot of info.  What pictures they showed looked great, but I'm wondering if it's worth the steep price (38 € for 4 issues).  I don't even know how many pages per issue there are.  If anyone has any insight or opinion as to whether or not it's worth it, I'd be anxious to know.  Thanks in advance!
