Hello;
Now like everyone else I wanted the straight skinny on this problem. To me It just brought a BIG can of Worms. Why? Well think about this. They mention dis-continuing Pactra. Like, what's New ? That brand hasn't been around since my second tour in the " Nam"
Aztec? Nah, I have seen better quality in airbrush models I have found in Hobby shops in Taiwan and Japan. Oh, that goes for the packaged sets they had too. I have used a W.R.Brown Compressor till I had to pawn it some years ago. It sold the second day after I couldn't pick it up because of health stuff.
Just got another under a different name and the part numbers are exactly the same. Good to go! Okay, back to the main subject. Everyone including yours truly got hung up on the ease and useability and selection of this fine model product.
Not a lot of dithering to shoot it through my A/B. Mixed easy and seemed to last forever if you kept the bottle rims and inside of the lids clean when you resealed Them. That's why I still have some bottles of Gasp!! PACTRA ! Chinese Red( Maroon ?)
I learned early on, that clean containers and low exposure to the sun or it's heat, keeps my paints fresh. I still have four Tins of Humbrol ( Deck Bleached teak!) I got back before it was imported for a short time by Monogram!
Now this brings me back to the message that Aaron posted for us. It was the same message that was posted by another member some time back when this whole thing came down. Not His fault either! If you go to Rusteoleum's Website you'll find the message tucked in there.
I did go to Sprue Brothers and found some of the brands mentioned in another post. I have never bought from them, But, based on what I've heard I may just do that.
Squadron? Right here in Carrollton TX. just outside of the Dallas/Ft.Worth Metroplex? The last time I ordered something I got the message back "Out of Stock" That's okay, except they seem to be out of stock on a lot of stuff all the time. Either they are selling a whole heckuva lot or they aren't staying on top of inventory!
I got an order from A seller on the " Bay" and it was ordered monday last week and arrived friday! He is in Illinois or Michigan I believe! The last time I actually did get something from Squadron it took Nine days from Carrollton to here. Both cities in TEXAS!
Be warned! fellow members, I may pick your gray matter as to the useability of these new paints I am going to try. I would even go so far as to ask "G" or the "Baron" to write a review on these products. Or Aaron, are you Game ?
