There is a solution to every problem and the best idea for help would be pictures of the steps you skipped and the area in question so we can collectively come up with an attack plan.

Never toss a good paint job. Improvise adapt and overcome.

Can you post a pic of the offending area. I'm sure one of us could come up with something

No, I will never let a kit defeat me. If needed and it's that bad I will set it aside and come back later with a clearer mind and different ideas. In the end I will complete it and it will meet my minimum standards. I look back over my life and I have never let a kit beat me. One way or another, over time if needed, I will complete it. Sometimes you just need time to let it sink in and come at it with another approach. Even a complete rework from the ground up has been done, but the kit was finished and I love the work. It took well over 100 hours for a simple 10 hour kit, but I did get it done. In my opinion, never give up, never surrender.

   I have scrapped a few, some out of frustration, others bad temper at the time.

     Can you close up the gear bays and display it in flight?  Hang it up in the corner to remind you to not rush things. Be a shame to toss the model if your really proud of the paint job.
