Or, my two bits. Use the kit set up. They are about as good a set as I've seen in plasdtic. Being double layer, they are not hard to rig. Yes, there's a gun spacing issue, but taking that on creates a whole other layer of work.

I was wondering what the after market dead eyes will then mount on as well as the chain tackle if I throw away the whole assembly

Hi Matt,

The kit deadeyes and lanyards are molded into one piece, so I do not understand how cutting off the plastic deadeye will accomplish anything. We generally will rig up a complete tackle and throw away the molded assembly that comes with the kit.  Not only it looks out of scale, being plastic, it doesn't take the strain of the rigging, and in all reality, make it harder to rig and set the shrounds and stays.

i am at the stage of installing the kit included channels but i have purchesed aftermarket dead eyes. Do i cut off the plastic Dead eyes and drill holes and replace with aftermarket dead eyes? any hot tips would be apreciated.
