Error in instructions?
Posted by consultant on Saturday, August 1, 2020 9:20 AM

I am currently working on a Dragon kit (6698 M4A3(75)W ETO) and as with all Dragon kits, the front sheet of the instructions highlight in blue, parts not needed.

Sprue B, of which there are 2, indicates part 34 and 20 as not required. So at step 11 in the instructions, the build of the main gun, how does the main gun get attached to the turet?

I've not built their armor kits , but I understand that their instructions aren't the best in the business, to put it mildly. Deviation from their direction is the way to go.

It is not uncommon to find errors in the instructions with Dragon and Cyber Hobby (same company) kits. Try to find a couple of build reviews, they often document the errors. Make notes on your instruction sheet so you remember, unfortunately they often have more than one error.

As Unwary states, errors in Dragon instructions are common. Sometimes it is minor, other times it is major.

The IPMS build review discusses this exact issue with the instructions. It may be of help to you.

I beleieve Rob has you covered on this issue.

Mistakes with Dragon instructions?? As Steve Austin says "Give me a Hell Yea!"  I recently completed Dragon Firefly 6182 having the usual goofs with the instructions but also the included decal unit and division markings were completly wrong and had to scratch build certain parts because the kit was boxed as generic and not the particular machine pictured on the decal placement sheet that it is supossed to be modeled after.
