International Ordering from Eduard and customs fees?

I also recommend using Czech Post even though I didn't have a choice. Eduard sent me an item that was missing from a PE kit that I bought online from Sprue Brothers, and they used Czech Post. I contacted them on July 28th and received the missing item on August 8th. I live in central CT and I wasn't in a rush though. I can't speak on any fees though, because it was sent to me at no charge. 

Great customer service btw. I've since ordered quite a few of their kits due to the customer service I received, and from reviews of the kits I was interested in. I wouldn't hesitate ordering from them directly if I had to.

I can't see FedEx stopping or reducing brokerage fees - it's how they make their money.

Go with Czech Post.   Given the covid situation, and not as many airliners flying, it's not likely FedEX would give much faster service at their prices anyway.

Give them a call or e-mail and ask.  They're pretty quick to reply to e-mails.

I get my Eduard stuff through Wheels and Wings in Toronto.  I phone the order in, and they mail it to me when it comes in.  It can take a bit of time, but I just pay Canada Post rates from their store.

I've bought a few items from them online recently as I live in the Niagara area. Are their prices on PE and masks comparable with what you would pay ordering direct form Eduard? Wish I could visit the store as they seem to have a great selection but it's a nightmare getting into downtown Toronto.

Greg was it shipped via Fedex or Czech post? Usually items shipped via post to Canada incure no surprise customs fees upon delivery, especially if it is duty free. Fedex though is another story. Would prefer Fedex as the overseas shipping time is much faster and cheaper than Czech post. Just want to know if anyone as incured a surprise brokerage fee upon delivery if it was sent via courier.

I'm in Canada so just about everything is international shipping. Not much aftermarket available in this country. Imported hobby model products are duty free in Canada but other non duty free goods shipped via courier such as Fedex, UPS etc they usually charge a brokerage fee. Don't know what it would be on model products as they are duty free and don't know if a courier would still add on some sort of handling fee for customs. My neighbor got a international shipment from Fedex recently (was not duty free). The item shipped cost $50 and the brokerage fee was $35 for Fedex to clear it through customs. Ouch!

I'm aware of Sprue Brothers but unfortunatly they are out of stock on a number of Eduard items I am looking for. At least they ship via USPS to Canada which rarely incurs any additional customs fees upon delivery.

I have ordered various parts from all kinds of different countries, including the Czech Republic, and if I ever did end up paying customs fees they were painless.

Eduard sells through local on-line retailers such as Sprue Brothers, so there's a good chance you may not have to have anything shipped internationally anyway.

Last time I bought directly from Eduard was likely 2015. There were no charges beyond what Eduard charged me at checkout.

That was a long time ago, so I doubt the this information is helpful. But that's the way it was back then FWIW.

A while back I received replacement parts for a  1/32 Special Hobby kit from somewhere in Europe and didn't pay any fees. I also resently bought  and ordered the late style resin tail for my 1/32 Revell Mustang from the UK with no fees.
