Locate a school bus
Posted by kcrist84 on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 5:57 PM

Hey all,

I have been looking for a plastic scale model school bus. I have looked on many sites but only found a die Cast bus. I'm specifically looking for a old school yellow/black kind. If anyone knows where I can find one can you point me in that direction?

thanks

Never found one in plastic, but the Czech company Z-Art does a nice-looking 1/32 paper card model.

Here's the link, if you're curious:

Took a quick look at scalemates...lindberg had a GMC conventional nose in 1/87.  Might be available via ebay or other vendors in older kits.

If you want something bigger, and aren't welded to exact scale, try some toy stores for plastic kids stuff to modify to what you want or use as a pattern to scratch build.

This is a conversion that might help you. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/jimmy-flintstone-nb276-1950-ford-school-bus-body-and-interior-tub-use-w-rmx-f100-pickup-truck--1090069

Scale mates lists many bus kits, but very few that resemble the old school US style bus.

Hi;

   The sad part? When AMT and ERTL brought out the big rigs and some offshoots they completely forgot to include one of the most ubiquitus vehicles on the American Road.

 I have seen a few in 1/24-1/25 but they are Oil company or other company's collectibles I did buy a vehicle that way.It was an oil company supervisor's R.V( Winnebago) and converted it to a true scale model.

    I would NOT do that again.

The Italian company Hachette has a nice diecast one in 1:43. I don't see any kits.

 Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
