I usually check out Hyperscale every couple of weeks, and today noticed something different. Brett Green was showing the new Spitfire mk1(sorry Bish), and I noticed that the banner was Hyperscale Video Workshop. Aug 21. On Aug 14, the banner was Squadron Scale Workshop, and he always stated that you could go to their website to purchase.
I don’t know the story behind the change, but it does make me sad. I recognize that it’s selfish on my part, because I haven’t done anything to help out Squadron, but I’m sad anyway.
KNOX;
Don't feel badly. I haven't purchased from Squadron since they started taking to long to fill orders. I don't understand why they did this. BUT in the defense of any like Squadron. To keep a large footprint is expensive. Nowadays these folks have tried a Toyota/Honda /Mazda et al. idea.
What is that? Keep a low numbers inventory and send only when ordered directly to the customer. Well, with other matters then Covid, the orders didn't arrive at their warehouse in a timely manner thus developing customer loss or ire.
This is industry wide and Squadron jumped in too soon. I still order from them But not unless I am not in a hurry.
I ordered a Hobby Boss Heavy Tank T29E1 back around the 4th of July. Their selection has greatly diminished; it used to be the place to buy all models online. Today, they carry very few brands and most of those are not in stock but "available to order".
I was browsing their armor selection today and Hobby Boss and Trumpeter were the only armor model brands in stock, with one Roden kit.
Haven't ordered from them since the 80's when they sent out mailers. It was the first place I checked when I got back into the hobby and I could see it wasn't the same. Not to mention plenty of complaints about them on the forums.
And their search function sucked. I'd find things on their site with Google that their own search could not.
i have much better luck with Amazon.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
mississippivolIt could simply be that the agreement for Squadron to sponsor the workshop expired, and was not renewed. It may not have been as beneficial to one or both parties.
Yeah, I second mississippivol. I think you're reading far too much into the change in header on Brett's video.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
While Squadron has gone downhill, I doubt this is anything more than them just not renewing the ad.
Squadron's "Chief Modeler" recently left and is starting his own online presence. It will be interesting to see the changes which are inevitable at Squadron.
