Hi folks. You have probably been asked this dozens of times, but I'm afraid I'm going to ask it again. How do I go about loading photos onto this site? I would be very grateful for any advice.

You need to upload your photo files to a third party hosting site. There's a bunch; I use Fotki. It's $ 24 a year, no adds or russian girls who want to borrow my credit card.

Then following that sites directions, you post the url on this site using that button that looks like a mountain.

The link shows up as the actual image, but it's not on the FSM server.

if you are still having trouble , like I did . go to the forums column , scroll down to testing forums . their is a lot of help there , you can also test to see if you got it right .

I use postimage as it is free , I just ignore the russian girls who want to use my credit card Whistling, if you use this , use the direct link button .

imgur.com is free and pretty easy to use.  I've been using it for a few years and it's been rock solid.  There's a 'social' part of it if you want to engage but I keep my pics private and you can use the UI to grab the BB link and paste here in the forums.  Happy to help if you need more guidance.

Thanks,

John

Thank you all. I tried Flickr, but it does not seem to like me. Mind you, technology and I don't exactly get along. It's probably an age thing......

There is a Help Forum way down among the forums. It is called Forum Technical Assistance.  There are quite a few previous threads that go into detail on posting and posting problems.  You might want to check that forum out.

 Viking 2

Hi Bill. Thanks to you and all the others for the advice. I gave up on Flickr and tried Fotki which seems to have worked well. I then found the Technical Assistance forum which had some sound advice. So here goes......Viking

Hi Bill. I have read several old posts in the technical advice forum, but I'm not having much luck. I joined up at Fotki and have created an album there. Whilst I get the insert image button on this site, I would be grateful if you could explain what it is you do on the Fotki site.

Regards

Rob Ferguson
