When I got my much anticipated brand new release Mustang GT4 from Tamiya I excitedly opened the box and drooled over the beautifully molded trees. I noticed right away that the wheels that are included with the kit are Forgeline GS1R wheels which are visually nearly identical to the track wheels I have on my 1:1 Boss 302 Laguna Seca which are Forgeline GA1R.
I had purchased the Revell 2013 Boss 302 some time ago and want it to make a replica of my car, but the kit obviously has the stock Boss 302 wheels.
So I pinged Tamiya and asked if I could order the sprue with the wheels on it, fully intending to pay. At the time, customer service said they didn't have any sprues available. Well on 9/25 I received an email from Tamiya saying they had the sprues and what address would it shipped to! A week later here they are - zero cost. Amazing customer service - and now I have the wheels for my Boss 302 :) Not to mention another 5.2L motor, exhaust... etc etc.
Now I just need to figure out how to delete the rear seat and turn the decals from black to luminous gray - or whatever the LS gets.
Thanks,
John
keavdogAmazing customer service
Too often we hear of poor service, let-down customers, and disappointment - I'd bet most of us have at least one such story to tell. So it's really good to hear of when things are done the right way
Well done, Tamiya, and thanks, Keavdog, for sharing the good news!
Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

I bought the 1/48 Tamiya F-14A. When I opened the kit, I noticed that the Canopy was broken in half. I cantacted Tamiya U.S. customer service. They said they would get a new canopy sent to me. Coming up on 2 months and nothing yet.

I can confirm that Tamiya will part out a kit they have in stock to get you a sprue. They did that for me with my F-14A, which I had bought just a day or two after release. They didn't have a stock of spare sprues yet, since the kit was so new, so they parted out a kit. Had the part in just a couple of days. Of course, the whole world hadn't been turned upside-down by this COVID thing yet.
