As far as I know, the Panther F did not have a muzzle brake, but I'm not sure if that variant actually saw combat or if it was just a "paper Panzer".

The amount of metal gun barrels for 1/48 vehicles is quite limited to a couple of vendors and only one I regulaly deal with has a 1/48 barrel for a Panther but none in stock. I am unsure if it will fit the 2019 Tamiya Panther D kit as it is a scale I don't work in.

However, if you were to think about 1/35 then there are plenty of kits and barrels/tracks available for Panthers along with advice.

I cannot comment on tamiya paints as I only really use the clear colours for lights on aircraft.

The Panther Series (D, A, F, G) had the same main gun of 75mm. The Mantlet differed ut the muzzle brake didn't change at all.

Hi MC. I can't help you with your questions on Tamiya paint, or the fit of the kit, but I can tell you that the main gun on the Panther D was the same as the G model. The mantlets were different, but the barrels were the same.

Hi everyone! How are you?

I was wondering if there is a difference between the main gun on the Panther Ausf D and G, be it muzzle shape or otherwise. I am trying to decide what metal barrel to buy if I ever purchase the 1/48 Tamiya Panther Ausf D.

Also, does anyone know of any fit problems for the Tamiya kit? I know Tamiya is awesome when it comes to fitting, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks!

Oh, and by the way, I was wondering if Tamiya X-35 Semi-Gloss Clear is a satin varnish. Any help with that would be also greatly appreciated. Thanks!
