Gator Glue is stopping production
Posted by EdGrune on Thursday, November 12, 2020 7:57 AM

A recent posting on the IPMS USA website indicates that Gator Glue is stopping production. Kenny Loup’s (owner of Gator) house was seriously damaged by the multiple storms to hit Louisiana this season.

So, does it mean that Gator Glue is stopping production, temporarily, till he can get his home restored, or, does it mean Gator Glue is stopping production permanently?

Wasn't there recently an appeal for funds here from a friend of his?

He could sell his company to 3M or Gorilla...

That does ring a bell, Bill.  I remember such a post, though I have to say, I don't recall if it was here in FSM, over at HyperScale, or maybe in both places.

Honestly, Johnny, I don't know.  The original poster's post says "Gator Glue".  I don't belong to the IPMS/USA forum where he saw the comment he's referenced, so I couldn't say.

Permanently. Here's what he posted on his website.

After 15 great years, I've made the painful decision to close Gator's.  As some of you
may know, our home sustained unrepairable damage from Hurricane Laura.
Between work, I am a supervisor for our local Parish (county for those outside of
Louisiana) government, storm clean up and prepping for a new house and every day
chores at our temporary home, there is very little time to devote to filling orders for
Gator's masks and glue.

Thank you all for your patronage.  I've made some great friends along the way.

Kenny

If you go to the homepage at "http://www.gatorsmask.com/", Kenny is announcing that he is closing Gator's.

What a shame.  I have his glue and like the results.

Thanks for the clarification!  Yeah, it's too bad.

Stock up!

That may be more difficult than you think. I looked at one website that stocked Gator Grip. They were charging $10.00 for one bottle????? It is not easy to fing Gator Grip.

I've never heard of it before, but reading old reviews I am intrigued in the thin blend.  Are there any similar brands currently available?

I just received a couple of bottles of Gator's Grip from Hobby World US. This stuff is not easy to find.

Can't speak for the other places, but I remember the post here, Brad.

I really like the thin blend, I ordered from Kenny directly a couple of times and wish him the best.
