I don't think their shipping is unreasonable. I've never paid more than $9.95 even when I've ordered a half dozen kits in decent size boxes (1/35 armor and 1/32 planes). He may not ship as quickly as Sprue Bros. (another great company to deal with), but as you noted he's got great prices. His inventory is also real-time, as well as Sprue Bros., from what I can tell. The one good thing about Scale Hobbyist not shipping out that quickly, is that I've placed orders for things I've forgotten later in the day from the initial order and he's combined the orders and refunded the shipping for one of the orders. btw have you shipped anything recently via USPS or UPS? The rates have gone up quite a bit.

I don't think you're going to find any places that offer free shipping without a minimum order amount.  So, the trick is to get a large enough order together to make the shipping cost worth it.  Sprue Brothers charges $8.99 for shipping and that's pretty much a flat rate, no matter how many items are in the box.  They do offer free shipping on orders of $200.00 or more, but I don't think very many of us order that much stuff on a regular basis.

Well,I think that it's OK shipping. So you're saying  I can go back to scalehobbyist.com,but instead of buying just one thing I really need,I'm going to buy a lot of stuff that will be of use later even though the shipping will stay the same price.I never knew it worked that way LOL.

You got it,I always try to wait and make a list before I order from anyone, especially paints and supplies.

Also look at Spruebrothers

I Also shop Ebay shops and sellers for bargains, but you do have to take their shipping into consideration.

Can't tell if your breakin' my stones or not... If so. Whatever. Won't hurt my feelings lol. If you're only looking for one inexpensive thing that only he has, then yes the shipping does seem high. Usually his shipping is $8.95 I believe regardless of what how much you order. He charges an extra $1.00 if anything flammable is ordered. This is for the slowest shipping option btw. I see you're on the other side of the country from him. I'm lucky in that he's only a few states away.

Have you ordered from him before? I like that he as well as Sprue Bros. have a watch/wish list and notifications when an item comes back into stock. I have a running list of items with both companies. When I'm ready to order I compare prices and stock availability.

Forgot to ask. What are you looking for?

There's also Jef V's corner store. I ordered from there once and the pricing and shipping was comparable to Sprue Bros. Good experience with them.

Forgot to ask. What are you looking for?

I'm looking for a couple imported items and a couple American items:

-Tamiya Masking Tape(18mm)

-Microset/Microsol Decal Setter/softener

-Mr.Topcoat Flat spray

ScaleHobbyist has all of these, for a total of $18.36 Plus $8.95 shipping,a total of $27.31...This seems reasonable, don't you think?

No,as a fact I have not.I have been ordering single items here and there from Amazon and eBay,before I realized I could've paid half the price at an online Hobby Shop.

Wow,thanks for the 2 other websites.I might even add to my cart whatever is available from each website, and then compare prices and order each item(s) from each better-priced website.
