Source for Stainless Steel hypo tubing?
Posted by cbaltrin on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 6:23 PM

Anyone have a source for 304 stainless steel tubing?

Seems smallparts.com is out of business...

I am looking for stainless steel tubing in the range of 1mm OD or .042" OD.

I have not ordered from these folks and I don't know if the prices are reasonable, but their catalog seems fairly extensive.

Good luck in your search.

I used to go to the pharmacy at the local grocery store for some.  I would explain that I needed some syringe tips for my hobby projects and promised to file off the points before I used them.  I would normally cut the tubes from plastic ends for whatever length I needed.  I didn't cost anything and I still have a supply on hand.

.042" OD = 19 Ga

McMaster-Carr has it. I don't know how they compare these days with other sources but it's a great/cheapest place I know to order X-acto knife blades in bulk.

you could always check out your local drug neighborhood!  I'm sure there are plenty laying around free for the taking...

Nice thing about McMaster Carr is that if you have one near by you can order the parts and pick them up at their warehouse.

I'll add my endorsement of McMaster-Carr, and here's the main catalog page for their 304 stainless steel tubing:

https://www.mcmaster.com/tubing/stainless-steel/

I'll also second the idea of using hypodermic needles, if you have a source.  My mother once had to give herself daily shots of a blood thinner, and she saved the syringes for me.

Hmmm;

    Do you have a Tractor Supply or Feed store in your area? The reason? They sell hypodermic supplies for farmers.
