Hasegawa F-14A 1/48 Scale...
Posted by fotofrank on Thursday, April 1, 2021 11:05 AM

A fellow modeler here in O-Town has a Hasegawa F-14A kit he got 2nd hand. It's lacking a canopy and windscreen. If anyone has an extra in their leftover parts box and will part with it, PM me with the info please. I'll pay the postage. Thanks.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Ha,I tried to build that beast twice over the years, both times it whipped me,just couldn't beat it.

I have seen some nice builds with it but I never could for some reason.

I started one back in the late 1990's.  I was going to do in the colorful scheme and I hit a wall.  It became a shelf queen for many years.   The I got some after market decals for one in a dark grey scheme and I did it then a few years ago.  I realy like it all done up and grey with subdued markings.  I don't do many jets.

Frank, I've got a complete canopy from a Monogram kit; if you think it'll fit, it's all yours.

There's a small crack on the left side that looks like it's all in the frame where paint would cover it up. If that's a deal breaker, no worries.

Hey Tojo

Did you have a problem with the intake assembly?  A few guys I know said the intakes gave them fits.  I have their 1/48 Strike Eagle in the stash.  It's my only Hasegawa kit.

Can't remember, had to be 20 yrs ago,I seem to remember to getting the fuselage to even close around the cockpit.

But I do have an old Hasgawa F-15C Satellite Killer which was a nice build, very smooth, the Eagle should go well for you.

Hasegawas F-15's are very nice builds. I dunno where they dropped the ball on the F-14 but I wouldn't touch one of those anymore.
