MR TOM SCHRY

Since the topic of Tom Daniels' kits came up on another post I was wondering if anyone knew what had happened to the molds for the Dave Deal's Wheels kits.  They orginally came out in the late 60s -early 70s and I built a lot of them as a kid.  The funny drivers, retro comic book illustrations in the instructions, and the wildly over blown tires were great!  I know that a few years ago Revell rereleased the "Baja Humbug"kit(of which I bought 3)but the others haven't seen the light of day for quite a few years.  Occasionally I run across some at a vendor's table but they usually command a high price.  Does Revell still have the molds or perhaps Atlantis has them.  I sure would like to see them on the shelves again.

Atlantis doesn't show any Deal's Wheels kits in their current catalog:

A keyword search returned no kits, either.

Whether they have the molds or not, I can't say.  If I remember correctly, Atlantis got the stock of Revell and Monogram molds that were here in the US.  If the Deal's Wheels molds were among those, then it's probable that Atlantis has them and could rerelease the kits in the future.

Hope that helps!
Best regards,
Brad

According to scalemates they were last released in 2007-2008. I must have built the 1995 release of the Zzzz-28 as I built it in the early 2000's.
