That's cool. You own it, so enjoy it. Aristo-Craft is not a well known seller of wooden models- the name seems to be linked more to actual boats and to G Scale trains.
I think you have to cut out and sew the sails, but if you wants sails, which schooners benefit from, there's a number of ways to do it.
