New to the forum and this might not get approved (don't know all the rules) but I found this site regarding rights to your photos and various photo-storing sites:

https://streetphototip.com/library/16-photo-sharing-license-agreements/

If this is a violation of terms  - sorry and no one will see it anyway :) - Smile

postimage is free

if you use this , use the direct link .

A lot of us are now using postimage. I find it faster to upload and have had no problems with the site.

I find it easiest to open a new window, so you have windows of the FSM thread and the POSTIMAGE SITE open at same time.  Then start composing your post.

Once you upload an image you will see a small picture of the image(s).  Click on the small image and it will appear as a large image.  Right-click on that large image, and click on copy image link.  Now go back to the FSM window.  Click on the image icon (the rectangle with mountains and sun)  When you get the window for images, paste the link in the top line.  You do not need to do the other two lines unless you want to.  That will insert your image.  Don't worry about the size of the image in the composing window.  It will automatically resize when  you finish the posting.

Thank you very much. I greatly appreciate the explanation and overview of the site and how it works.

And...don't use photobucket. A number of years ago they tried to switch to a paid-for site and held everyones images hostage.

I use Fotki, no ads easy to use and $ 24 a year. Many other choices, some free.

Photobucket going from free to paid subscription id the reason why I am not fond of (and leary of) photo hosting sites.

OK. I guess I am going to have to break down and start using a hosting site. I was hoping that I did not have to.

You need a photo hosting site.

Need to host on a third party site.  Way down in the pages are several threads concerning different sites, both free and fee.

How do I upload photos?
Posted by Rhaven Blaack on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 4:44 PM

I know that I am still new to this forum. However, I was wondering if I can upload photos directly from my computer or do I need to use a photo hosting site (i.e. photobucket)?
