I nake my own.  Buy a small nose plier with round noses.  The money you save will soon pay for them.  Grab a piece of wire, hold it in flat nose pliers, twist around a piece of rod or wire- go completely around, snip the end right where it crosses the stem, and cut to desired length.  I have made a jig with a couple of rods of different diameters sticking up from a base of particle board.  If you have to do a dozen or more, a jig really makes it easier.  I like painted ones, so I use black coated wire.  However, if you want brass ones, brass wire is readily available.  I get my wire at Michaels.  HL also has a variety of small diameter wire also.

HO scale lift rings might work. You can usually find them at model railroad shops, and those I have are about 1 mm in diameter.

Were to find jackstay eyebolts?

I am building a for "beginner" small wood ship by the name of Dapper Tom.

The jack stay eye bolts are of a very small size which make it very difficult to work with. I may go a little out of scale and instead of using the very small eye bolts I would like to use the 1mm size. The problem I have encountered is I am unable to find any store or internet site that carries then.

Does anyone can give an indication of were the jack stay eye bolts of 1mm size can be found?

Thanks

Joe
