Hey all. I need some help getting outside my comfort zone. I am at the painting stage of my Tamiya BF-109. It has the option to open the engine compartment, and I'm pretty pleased with how it came together and want to display it with everything open.
I also have an old Verlinden resin display base that mimics a Luftwaffe repair facility. I want to make the wood look worn and used-up.....Like my back deck right now that my wife wants me to fix - All gray and grimy.
Any tips on how to paint "old wood"? I don't have a ton of experience in dioramas or armor, so wood has never come up. I do have a whole host of paints, washes, pigments etc that I can use, I just need some direction on how to get there.
I could also use a few tips on paiting the surrounding grassy area.
