Sounds like a searchlight platform. Do you have the searchlights?

It shouldn't be hard to make one up with something like plastic report cover material.

You should post this over on the Ship forum.

Yes, its the searchligh platform.  I have styrene stock so I could go the scratch build route.  Just checking if there were any parts around.

Round 2 Models, who bought Lindberg, doesn't have any parts for kits prior to 2008.   I spent $$ on some aftermarket 3-D print  stuff for it, like the bridge and turrets.  Now it turns out the turrets won't be able to rotate in unison with the bellcrank assembly from the original kit.  I was going to motorizie this but it looks more like it will be a static display.   Oh, it probably could be done but I'm beginning to wonder how much lipstick do I want to put on a pig - LOL.

I have a Revell 1:75 Type VII/C U-Boat coming my way (Platinum Edition) that I'm really looking forward to.  I may scratchbuild my part or just put this back on the shelf and re-group till I'm done with the U-Boat

I believe that was Lindberg's company slogan. Pretty much applied to all their kits.... Big Smile

Don't get me wrong...I love that they did so many off, 'niche' subjects -- especially in their line of ships -- but they were all mostly toy-like and require a bit of patience and persistence to bring up to 'acceptable' standard.

[Sorry for the double post. Embarrassed Obviously pushed the wrong button somewhere....]

LOL.   I only grabbed it because it was 1) big and 2) cheap.  Ever have one of those times when you say to yourself, "why did I get involved in this?"   Trust me, I have the patience and the skills. Just look at the Black Pearl I did and a few others on the Forums.  This one is definitely a real gem (LOL)

Lindberg kits are spotty.  Some are gems and some are junk. Even in the same genre the scale fidelity and fit vary greatly.  The repoped Curtiss Jenny is a gem, their stearman is junk.  Ships the same.

Fuzznoggin,

As for your "Ever have one of those times when you say to yourself, "why did I get involved in this?"

Yes, I had a marriage like that !!!

"Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, okay?"
