None. Building was sold and is now a Parks Coffee warehouse. There is no connection between the "old" Squadron and the "new" Squadron other than the name.

Ah, OK! In another forum, someone mentioned that "Freetime and Squadron are run by the same person", but provided no details. Now it makes sense.
The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.
I have started getting emails from Freetime again. I enjoyted doing business with them in the past. They were a great source for resin kits.
Squadron seems to be getting back to its roots.
Interesting news. I wonder if their is any CDN navy ships in their lineup?
Never give up, never quit, never stop modelling.
Well, I bought a pre-order from Freetime Hobbies, which came today. The shipping slip said it came from Squadron Hobbies. Looks like the transition has been in place for a bit.

Speaking of new Ship stuff. I got a big flyer/catalog in mail from Model Expo. This expanded hard copy has new stuff including new lines of POB ship models. I was under the impression these were declining, but here are new brands. Have no idea if they are worthwhile or not, but it seems to me that ship modeling in general is doing well these days.

Great to hear that an icon of modeling has not only come back from the edge but is planning on prispering as well. I will happily give as much consumer support as my checkbook will allow.
we're modelers it's what we do
Brandon Lowe, the owner of Squadron, posted on SteelNavy that he has reacquired Freetime Hobbies. Brandon sold Freetime and Blue Ridge Models several years back when he thought he wanted to get out of the hobby business and concentrate on 1:1 scale motorbike graphics.
He purchased Squadron from their bankruptcy holder earlier this year. When I talked with him at the IPMS nationals he said he had big plans. A week or two back he mentioned, almost in passing, that Squadron would soon stock Blue Ridge Models.
In yesterdays post on SteelNavy he said that he had purchased Freetime and that their warehouse stock had been shipped from North Carolina to the Squadron warehouse in north Georgia where it would be inventoried and put up on the website.
I don't know if there will be one or two two business entities. Freetime had a small recognition among mostly ship modelers. Squadron had a larger presence until their management woes and bankruptcy. Brandon has been working to reclaim that.
Anyway, good luck to Brandon and Russ Lowe. Wish you all the success in the world
