Okay!
Let's see. Here's the guy that said he would never use a wood deck such as they have, to build a 1/350 ship. At the time I was referring to an Artwox deck I saw on a friend's ship and him telling me what a job it was to put on, compensating for it's thickness ,yada, yada! Now, I found a Squadron model at a Train Show. It was the "Encore" U.S.S. Olympia! This ship model came with a paper thin , very easy to apply wood veneer for the deck. It affected nothing in the way of fitting parts on said deck.
Well, I am in the process of building it and the deck looks awesome! I was Gifted the "TAMIYA" U.S.S.Missouri in 1/350. I don't care who's is better, it's Way better than Revell's for sure! Way more accurate and all. Now that said I have Tamiya's "New Jersey".( I was going to back date it and call it the "MO", because this was gifted to me and watching different sites I knew the"MO" would never fit in my very tight model budget.) Can't tell much difference except the fit. "Mo" is 1945 fit and "New Jersey" is 1981 fit. Some differences for sure. Who makes a wood deck for both that is as thin as the one from the "Encore Model"?
Yes Folks, I got bit bad. That "wood" deck and Brass Gun barrels on the Olympia changed my mind for sure! HELP!!! Plus all the P.E.for the wheelhouse etc. The "Mo" has her share as does the "New Jersey". So Wood Decks have to be part of it! Oh, I was gifted with a bunch of other ship parts in 1/96 and 1/350, a bunch of Brass barrels. They are the "5 -38, the 16" and 20 MM and 40 MM in 1/350 and (Twin 50"s in 1/96, Aircraft?)
