Tamiya F-35A Lightning II Advice . . .
Posted by fotofrank on Friday, June 9, 2023 2:58 PM

My wife bought me this kit about six weeks ago, and I'm finally getting to building it. I am meticulously following the instructions as I go along. I'm getting close to closing up the nose, but before I do, should I add some weight to the nose? I certainly don't want a tail sitter when it's finished. Any thoughts?

Can't say that I know, but it can't hurt to do it and play safe.

I did kind of a CG test on mine with all of the major assemblies put together and it didn't seem to be a problem.  There's all kinds of heavy, internal structure forward of the main gear attachment points, so I elected not to put weight in mine.  Never hurts to do it anyway though.

FINALLY all moved into my new house, so I'll be getting back to building mine too. Big Smile

Thanks for your input, guys.

I will go ahead and put some weight in the nose just to be safe.
