I.P.M.S. Show-New Braunfels Tx. Today!!

First off:

My thanks to all who helped me after my Mishap! We had a stumbler? That upset my walker and Oxygen regen unit in the crowd. Now that said lets get on with it. The Vendors were almost stacked ceiling heighth with Goodies. From Hard to find to common, Armor, Planes, etc. Not to many Ships sadly ,but what was being offered was primo stuff for sure.1/350 and 1/700 dominating the offerings.

The Armor was a general Hodge -Podge of Heavies and Lights, Many manufacturers and quite a few Resin units.(Prices were fair there, I thought). Sci-Fi was well represented with quite a few bagged things with fair pricing. The Gundam and other stuff(Maschinenkreiger etc.) out the wazoo. prices I thought were somewhat elevated here.

Cars and trucks. Mostly fair in small doses. I saw many that I already own going for prices that I was told were Waaay too High. Many were prices at least fifty to seventy- five percent higher than I last tried to sell and I was in the 30 to 40 dollar range. The only specific I will give is the 67 Dodge Charger kit I have been looking for. I think that $200.00 was a wee bit rich!

The Model cars were definitely up there, but Planes were all over the board. Actually deservedly so, Some I haven't seen since I was a pre-teen. Pristine, In the box(Good condition there too) Full inst.and put the Decals in a sunny window and "Bob's yer Uncle" as the English are won't to say!

Now, the Display Tables. Sadly, I had to make do with a fiddley pair of readers so I missed a lot. BUT, the 1/48 and 1/35 dominated and some of the subjects were diminutive at best(can You say, Dingo!) The heavies were choicely represented with K-V-1s and Brummbars as well as Allied heavies. Military Bikes too, Zundapps and BMWs leading the pack. Missile launchers, specifically S.A,M.s were well done and intimidating.  There was a twin Forty Oerlikon Unit there that had me slavering. Bullets and all! The cars, Surprisingly less than Twenty! were a general pack of well done vehicles and more than one NOT lacking in imagination or construction. One caught my eye because of it's complexity and detail down to and including a model of the Owner/Driver of the actual truck. It was one of those that pick up from tanks the leftovers from the night before from underground tanks. The Dirt, The stains and overall dirtiness of a working vehicle was all there. Down to a low front tire even!

Ships-The Seydlitz and two other German ships in 1/350 that I had never seen or heard of, before. (Those bad boys knocked this old ship builders socks off!) (Oil Canning-The dents in a ships sides), subtle and well done, Colors right on for the eras and detail and P.E, again way up to snuff. We had the usual raucous wonderful time, looking through all the Books and Visiting with members of the Tuskeegee Airman's assoc.  (Nothing but interesting the way the older children of the original Flyers tell the stories!) I was in so much discomfort I had to leave, But I'll be back in January to do it again(God Willing and the Creek don't Rise)

I left refreshed with a feeling that there isn't anything Wrong or Sickly with our hobby. Building Models is still fun even if you have to have someone help! Plus the imaginations are still soaring! I didn't forget Sci -Fi - it's always last. The figures were done to the utmost and some were so small I had to use a magnifier! Skin tones(Where applicable ) were spot on.  I had to ask one builder( Is she fueling herself or the Bike?) Super well done and youdda thought I said he won the Oscar! Colors and weathering on the Gundam Armor was spot on for the movements they would make. When I walked in the room there was a Dragon done by a Junior. A more colorful, Welcoming? dragon I have never seen. All bright pastels and done well. He even looked like he had a smile on his/her face!

Well, that's it and Hope to hear from you soon. Sorry no photos, I will let the experts handle that! Fair Winds and Following Seas! TankerBuilder!
