Hi Ya'll!
Just dropping a line about a model. For you Naval Modelers out there. How many of you have, or have thought about buying Hobby-Boss's kit #82005- The U.S.S.Pegasus? It's in 1/200 scale.
It's a neat little model for sure, Even comes with All the P.E. you'll need! It's molded well too. There is something I noticed, and being and Engineer I was almost sure to notice. Something is off!
On the hull you have as seperate pieces the Jet pumps that drive this thing when it's not up on the Foils. BUT, the Foils show NO forms of propulsion that would drive the vessel through the water! Strange, But true. The Foils are rendered in the Down and Action position!
Okay, if so, she has to have propulsion. After all the Water jets couldn't blow enough air to keep her up. But, there is no jet or turbo tailpipe topside that would put out the push to stay on foils.
That shortcoming aside, she's a nicely rendered model of an oddball subject from the U.S.N. . Attractive when done. Now at 1/200 scale they could've put in real pilothouse windows and interior too. So keep an eye out for her or her Sister? U.S.S.Tucumcari! Nice little models overall!
